Year 6 Awards

Congratulations to the following pupils on their achievements throughout the school.

End of year prizes- Cherry

English- Ilana Bradley

Throughout her time at Willowbrook, Ilana has always produced work of an incredibly high standard. She poses a natural flair and interest for writing. Ilana is able to successfully and accurately distinguish between different genres and styles of writing, which include ambitious and varied vocabulary. During her time in school, Ilana has developed her own writing style, allowing her to compose individual pieces- Well done Ilana!

Science- Luke Dennis

Luke is a natural born scientist. He loves taking part in a variety of different investigations and creating predictions to go alongside these. Luke loves to experiment during science lessons and loves to take the lead when experimenting. Well done Luke!

Maths- Nicolai Bruja

In terms of his mathematical development, Nicolai’s knowledge and confidence has truly grown and developed throughout his time at Willowbrook. Nicolai has a natural interest and passion for maths and has worked hard throughout the years to apply his passion within lessons. In every lesson, Nicolai pushes himself to achieve greater depth and loves the satisfaction he gets from solving complicated word problems- Well done Nicolai.

Computing- Freddie Gunn

I’m sure the winner of this prize comes to no surprise. Freddie is always on hand to share his technological knowledge and to assist both staff and children. Freddie’s dream job is within IT and I’m sure he will achieve this. Freddie has not only supported all staff and classes during their class assemblies, but he has even taught lessons to Cherry class on how to use Scratch during computing. Superb work Freddie!

Performing arts- Sophia Barrow

This child’s confidence has really blossomed throughout her time at Willowbrook and watching the way she performs during Christmas shows and the end of year production has been amazing. Sophia has been able to learn her lines quickly and really put herself into her character using different voices and actions. As well as her acting skills, Sophia has become a more confident singer, who performed as part of the choir at Christmas.

Sports- Max Sarchet

Cherry class is quite a sporty and athletic class, which made choosing this award even harder. However, despite the strong skill set of children in the class, I thought it was important to choose someone who also shows strong sportsmanship and willingness to learn and improve, which is why Max has won this award. Max will always take on board feedback, whether that be from an adult or his peers and aims to improve whatever it is he is doing. Max will always cheer on his peers and never takes a lose personally. He is an excellent role model to everyone. Well done Max!

Willowbrook award- Hope Mann

This award represents a child with brilliant growth mindset, effort and someone who is always demonstrating of all our core values. Hope has worked extremely hard this year to make the progress she has and has shown that with a little determination and good attitude, that you truly can achieve. Hope pushes herself with everything she does and never lets the struggle of hard work put her off. She understands the need for a challenge with her learning and is always determined to push through the challenge. Hope understands her areas of weakness and works tirelessly to improve this. Well done Hope!

All-rounder- Neha Uddin and Liam Pease

Of course, the winner of an all-rounder award is never an easy choice, which is why two children have been chosen as deserving of this award. Both of these children have worked tirelessly all year and have had opportunities to represent the school during their efforts as a House Captain and School Ambassador, so this award goes to Liam Pease and Neha Uddin.

Both of these children work hard in all areas of the curriculum and consistently demonstrate excellent behaviour. Their work is always well presented and their passion for learning is commendable.

Liam and Neha have represented the school during sporting events and show our core values to everyone they meet. Neha has had the opportunity of being our Primary school ambassador this year, which she has thoroughly enjoyed. Liam has been a House Captain and has loved leading and supporting throughout different school events including the house mornings. Well done Liam and Neha.
